2120 Capitol Avenue
Cheyenne, Wyoming 82001
Directions: Long-time residents
call this building the Post Office. It still is the downtown postal
station on the ground floor and still the tallest building in Cheyenne.
From out-of-town
the easiest routes downtown are along Central and Warren Avenue, each one way south
and north respectively. Capital Avenue is the first street west of Central
and Warren is the first street east of Central. Central Avenue intersects
I-25 at the north end of town and crosses I-80 in the middle of town.
Parking at the Courthouse is a problem. Only two blocks from the
State Capital, when the Legislature is in session it can be a real problem. Of course, having to
walk two blocks is a "real" problem for Wyomingites. The Court Room is on the 8th floor and security requires the elevator be used. There
are restrooms on that floor. Metal detection is required at all federal
court houses and during times of heightened security picture I.D. may also be
required. (Leave your pocket knife in the car.) There is no food service in
the building. |
